I founded The Video Underground in 2001, in an effort to fill a market void in the Boston cinema community and to create a truly inspired neighborhood video store. The core business intention was to focus on independent, foreign, documentary and hard to find cult titles, while still maintaining a weekly updated selection of new release titles. The store was enormously successful and incredibly well-received by the local market and press. After 3 years in our original shop, we expanded to a much larger retail space that included an indoor micro-cinema and backyard screening space for the warmer months. Business more than doubled upon our move and the store continued to grow and evolve until I sold it in the Fall of 2011.

In addition to researching, funding and launching a highly successful corporation, I was responsible for all daily operations and logistics including managing a staff of 5-10 people, book-keeping, inventory curating/ordering, marketing and advertising, brand identity and graphic design of all store materials.
